Slough landlords require new license to lease out homes
Landlords of all houses in more than one career (HMOs) will now want a license to lease out Slough rooms.
The council has delivered new licensing regulations to improve condominium houses and bedsits throughout the borough.

Cllr Mohammed Nazir (Lab, Baylis, and Stoke), the cabinet member for housing and community protection, stated: “A lot of the folks that rent in Slough are prone, families with younger children, or prison workers who have no circle of relatives or friends to depend on and essentially positioned up with poor situations as they’ve nowhere to show.
“With a licensing device where landlords are forced to sign up, there can be accountability, and those who want help can get it.”
Slough has more than the countrywide average of condominium accommodation within the borough, which currently stands at 33 according to a cent.
In Chalvey and Central wards, 50 percent of houses are privately rented accommodation.
To obtain a license, landlords will want to offer evidence of their property’s safety through a valid utility certificate.
“People’s lives are hugely laid low with the assets they stay in, whether or not that be their intellectual or physical fitness, and we want to try to redress that.
“With licenses, the expectation is that better homes will appeal to higher tenants.
“This will then probably have the knock-on effect of improving the pleasant of the assets and the place.”
If landlords practice for an Additional Licence, required for all homes in a couple of occupation homes, earlier than October 1, they will pay £450 for an HMO of up to 6 rooms.
