Hawaii Business Magazine spends a lot of time measuring the overall performance of agencies and nonprofits in the islands.

That’s why each year, we submit a series of lists: the Best Places to Work, the Top 250 ranking of Hawai’i’s largest businesses, Hawai’i’s Most Profitable Companies, and the Most Charitable Companies. Our readers find value in each of these lists, and so do the businesses being ranked—it tells them how they measure up to their peers and competitors.

This year, ‘there’s a brand new look to the top 100 in Real Estate. After 12 years of giving us its MLS income statistics, the Honolulu Board of Realtors declined to offer those records, this time to Hawaii Business Magazine. Board leaders informed us the Top a hundred put too much emphasis on the pinnacle tier of Realtors in place of the services furnished via many other Realtors on O’ahu. They also stated that part of the statistics might be skewed because some Realtors had formed groups and attributed all of the crew’s income to a single man or woman.

REAL ESTATE AGENTS

But the Neighbor Island boards endured their partnership and furnished information to us, so we compiled a list of the Top one hundred primarily based only on Neighbor Island facts.

We may want to provide a statewide list. However, we assume this revised Top 100 still benefits shoppers and dealers of local real estate. It also looks at Neighbor Island’s accomplishments and real estate retailers.

Who Are They…

Real estate sellers are experts who connect the buyer with the seller.
Additionally, many actual estate retailers control leases in which they introduce tenants to landlords and oversee the protection of the landlords’ assets.
In most areas, real estate sellers must be highly knowledgeable, licensed, and regulated by a governing body.

Some actual property dealers also are Realtors.
To use the title Realtor, a real estate agent must be a member of the National Association of Realtors, which requires Realtors to adhere to a strict code of ethics. Several other necessities give Realtors additional academic and designation possibilities.
Though not required by rules or regulations, looking for a Realtor’s offerings might be a sensible decision.

What Do They Do…

Real property agents, together with more interested parties, carry out the steps necessary to successfully conclude a transaction and fee a fee for their offerings. For sales transactions, the rate commission is to the vendor, while for leases, the commission is normally charged to the owner.
Real estate agents normally calculate their rate as a percent of the selling price (inside the case of a sale) and as part of the lease for condo devices.
